New design for Bloomsbury Fashion Central

Coming Soon– a new design for Bloomsbury Fashion Central. Tailored and redesigned with the end user in mind.

In mid-July, Bloomsbury Digital Resources will release a newly redesigned Bloomsbury Fashion Central platform. Based on feedback from librarians and end users, Bloomsbury Fashion Central will now feature a contemporary homepage design foregrounding search of subscription databases, a streamlined header to improve user navigation, improved database search via layout and indexing, a refined bespoke taxonomy, strong imagery showcasing photos from Fashion Photography Archive, and the addition of the Fairchild Books Store on homepage for inspection copies and rental options for students.

We are committed to making this transition to the new design a seamless one for our customers.  Enhanced information pages such as “About Bloomsbury Fashion Central” and our “How to Use” page provide details about each of our databases.  They describe the new features of the homepage, specifics of each database, how to search, browse, cite, save content to folders, share, and use the timeline.  Our Subscriber Services page provides information on how to subscribe as well as access to the Subscriber Administration Portal and the Technical Support page.

The URL structure for all content on Bloomsbury Fashion Central will remain the same.  There will be no need for redirects or updates to DOI links or bookmarks and there will be no impact on institutional usage statistics, nor any need to update proxy configurations.

Upon launch, we will be providing a full suite of marketing material to help librarians introduce this new platform design to their academic community.  We thank our Bloomsbury Fashion Central community for their continued support and feedback, which is always incredibly valuable.  All changes to the platform will help to provide a rich educational experience on a platform now tailored and redesigned with the end user in mind.
