ARLIS needs you – an opportunity to get involved as a new officer!

New Officers for ARLIS needed!

ARLIS UK & Ireland is run by enthusiastic volunteers who believe in the work of the Society and are ready and eager to make an active contribution to Art Librarianship.

We are now recruiting for essential roles within the Society’s Officers core. We are looking in the first instance, to appoint the following:

  • Hon Secretary
  • Minutes Secretary
  • Membership Secretary

If you’re interested, please email the ARLIS UK & Ireland Chair, Carla Marchesan, carla.marchesan@princes-foundation.org by 22 Dec 2017

Volunteering for ARLIS UK & Ireland offers valuable experience and a chance to shine in areas that might not be yet available in one’s own workplace, or to share one’s experience with the Art Libraries community, it looks good on CVs, and offers excellent networking and CPD opportunities.

Employers usually welcome the opportunity offered to their staff to volunteer for professional support organizations with an international profile such as ARLIS UK & Ireland, seeing it as not only a valuable CPD activity for their staff, but a valuable asset for their organization, or a way to give back organizational skills to the community, and might allow for some work time to be used on the Society’s business.

However, all volunteers understand that some work will need to be done in one’s own personal time, particularly when approaching deadlines or in case of unforeseen occurrences needing a speedy response, when these cannot be addressed in work time.

We hope to welcome you as a new Council Member/Officer at our next meeting in Jan/Feb.

ARLIS Membership Secretary 2017

ARLIS Hon Secretary 2017

ARLIS Minute Secretary 2017

Many thanks,

Carla Marchesan,

Chair ARLIS UK & Ireland on behalf of the ARLIS UK & Ireland Council
