The ARLIS Professional Development Committee are pleased to present Taking the Plunge – an event aimed at introducing those interested in a career in art librarianship to the diversity of the sector, the kind of work and roles involved, as well as the current job market and how to enter the profession.

2.15-2.25: Introduction
2.25-2.55: Working in academic libraries – Antonia Lewis, Subject Librarian (Art, Design and Visual Cultures) – Goldsmiths, University of London
2.55-3.25: Working in a museum or gallery library – Jonathan Franklin, Librarian – The National Gallery
3.25-3.55: Working with special collections – Althea Greenan, Curator – Women’s Art Library, Goldsmiths, University of London
3.55-4.10: Tea break – 15 min
4.10-4.40: Notes and experience of a recent graduate– TBC
4.40-5.10: Job application and CV tips session – Vitoria Sculfor – Sue Hill Recruitment
5.10-5.25: Closing remarks and Q & A
